While other girls I knew were listening to the music I mentioned, I was listening to System of a Down, Krewella, Marilyn Manson, Knife Party, Eminem and Mindless Self Indulgence, and I was actually planning on listing other artists that I listen to but it would be too long and I wanted to keep it to seven frames for each. I don't listen to the shit music on the radio, instead, I listen to the other artists like System of a Down, Marilyn Manson, Rammstein and Mindless Self Indulgence, I'm not bashing my OWN gender but I'm saying that while the other girls were listening to the "crap", I was listening to the "real music".

The thing is everyone thinks their taste in music is a lot more important than it actually is, and it's basically become a sort of dick-measuring contest between different artists and genres. People who like rock and rap look down on people who like generic pop music. People who like classic rock look down on people who like modern rock and rap. People who like jazz and classical music look down on people who like classic rock. And people who like really obscure music that no one else listens to look down on all of these groups. The whole thing is rather childish, really. You might think your musical tastes are this big differentiator that sets you apart from everyone else, but the reality is no one else cares what music you like except for people who like classier music and are looking down on you.
